THE grieving family of a 15-year-old girl killed in a car crash at the weekend have paid tribute to a “beautiful, happy, confident” girl.

Natalia Wiley, from Pickering, North Yorkshire, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, on the A170, at about 6.30pm on Saturday.

Two men arrested in connection with the crash have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Her family yesterday released a joint statement, which read: “The family are grieving the tragic loss of our beautiful, happy, confident daughter. She will be missed by all that knew her.

“The family would like to thank everyone for their help and support at this difficult time.”

Natalia, who was a student at Lady Lumley’s School, in Pickering, was a passenger in a blue Vauxhall Corsa that went out of control at Snainton, near Ebberston, about eight miles east of Pickering near Chris Hodgson’s car showroom. The car ended up on its roof.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from Pickering, suffered minor injuries and spent the night in hospital.

He was later arrested, along with a 21-year-old man, from Kirkbymoorside, who was driving a white Ford Fiesta that was travelling in convoy with the Corsa.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call either Traffic Sergeant Neil Campbell or Traffic Constable Dave Williamson, of North Yorkshire Police, on 0845-60-60-24-7, quoting reference number NYP-08012011-0392.
