A POPULAR youth theatre group is once again accepting expressions of interest from prospective students.
The waiting list for the Youth Theatre group, at the Georgian Theatre Royal, in Richmond, North Yorkshire, had been closed because of the group’s popularity and the number of students on the list. The group has produced a number of productions at the theatre, such as Alice in Wonderland, Our Country’s Good, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Gel.
This spring, members will be performing the late Alan Plater’s comedy, Sweet William.
A theatre spokeswoman said: “The Youth Theatre is really popular and the demand for spaces is very high.”
The group provides access to training in all areas of the theatre and stage craft.
Classes and workshops cover acting, directing, devising original drama and backstage skills. The group is open to young people from four to 18.
