ONE person was rescued by firefighters after a flat fire in Hartlepool.
The incident happened at around 9pm on Tuesday night.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Fire Brigade said three appliances were sent to the flat in Marquis Street on the town's Headland.
The occupant was given oxygen therapy before being handed over to paramedics.
A cooker was damaged in the blaze and the property was left smoke-logged.
