X FACTOR singer Jamie Archer will help launch a city’s bonfire night display.

The 35-year-old will perform at the event at Aykley Heads, Durham City, on Friday, November 5.

The event will start at 5pm, with the London-born singer on stage from 6.45pm to 7.15pm. The bonfire will then be lit, with a fireworks display starting from 7.30pm. The event will end at about 8.30pm.

There will also be refreshments and safety demonstrations.

Entry is £3, and free for under-fives. Proceeds will go to local charities. Some parking will be available at County Hall and the Durham Light Infantry Museum.

The joint police and fire service event is now in its 35th year. More than 15,000 people attended last year’s display.
