JAPANESE culture was placed under the spotlight at the weekend.
The Teikyo University of Durham held an annual festival celebrating Japanese culture and cuisine at the Lafcadio Hearn Cultural Centre, in Durham City.
The programme included music, Japanese tea ceremonies, calligraphy, origami and an introduction to other facets of Japanese life.
University bursar Michael Daly said: “Despite the weather, it was a very successful day.
“We had several hundred people visit during the day. It was very impressive.”
