FOUR people were taken to hospital tonight, one of them with potentially life-threatening injuries, following a crash on the A19 in North Yorkshire.
The accident, which involved a Volvo estate and a Ford Focus, happened on the southbound carriageway, south of the turn-off for Crathorne at around 7.30pm.
the most seriously injured casualty was a man in his early 40s, who was rear seat passenger in the Ford Focus, and was taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough by police helicopter.
The front seat passenger suffered neck injuries and was also taken to hospital, while the driver was uninjured.
A man and woman in the Volvo, a married couple in their early 50s, were also taken to hospital by ambulance, the woman suffering from serious chest injuries.
