NO charges will be brought against Premiership footballer Titus Bramble over allegations of rape, it has emerged.
The Sunderland defender was arrested in the early hours on September 22 at the Vermont Hotel in Newcastle city centre.
The 29-year-old, along with brother Tesfaye, 30, was arrested on suspicion of rape.
But today a Northumbria Police spokesman said no further action was being taken against Bramble.
However, he added that his brother remained on police bail.
The allegations relate to a 19-year-old woman.
