TWO children from the same class are turning ten on the tenth of the tenth 2010.

Daniel Sunley and Sophie Nixon are looking forward to their birthdays tomorrow.

The youngsters, who attend Castleside Primary School, near Consett, were both born at the former Dryburn Hospital, in Durham City.

Sophie’s mother, Gayle, said: “She is quite excited and has been looking forward to it all year as she knows it is a special one.

“It is even more unusual that there is someone in the same class with the same birthday.”

Both mothers, Lisa Sunley, 41, and Ms Nixon, 42, are civil servants and studied for A-levels at the former Blackfyne Comprehensive School Sixth Form, in Consett.

They both have older children James Michael and Michael James, now 15, who also attended Castleside Primary School.

Ms Sunley said: “There are a lot of coincidences.”
