A YOUNG model has appealed for the region’s help in winning a role in a graphic novel.
Actress, model and photographer Jade Turnbull is in the running for a part in Marie’s War, by Second Legion Graphic Novels, in York. The 20-year-old, from Newton Hall, Durham, would be transformed into a drawn character in the Second World War tale.
She is up against other candidates in a public vote at maries-war.com Ms Turnbull said: “Art is my life. I love all forms of art. To have the chance of being in this artform means the world to me.
“It is an honour to be involved in something so serious that highlights what actually goes on in times of war. It has opened my eyes to the brutality of man unleashed in war.”
The book tells of the suffering and sacrifice of a group of people in the Pacific during the Second World War.
The novel is due out next year.
