A pensioner has died following an accident involving a cyclist near a primary school.
Police are seeking witnesses to the incident in which the un-named 71-year-old suffered head injuries as he crossed Station Road in Ampleforth, near Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
He was airlifted to the James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough, after the accident which happened yesterday at 4.30pm, but later died.
The 42-year-old cyclist, a man from York, was also seriously hurt and was taken by ambulance to the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton.
