A CENTENARIAN who is fascinated by meerkats has been given the chance to meet one of the furry creatures.
Edith McHugh, 100, from York, was invited to visit Adia, a female meerkat born last month at Askham Bryan College.
Mrs McHugh’s family contacted the college after she read about the new arrival, which joins parents Hattie and Bertie and brother Billy, in the college’s animal management centre.
Staff welcomed Mrs McHugh and her family to the college, where she also met several of the other residents, including Kune Kune pigs and goats.
