Had a chat with our local County Councillor, Pauline Charlton, about the best way to stop ‘Hycroft’ from becoming a residential school for children with ‘emotional and behavioural’ problems.
As most of you will know by now a petition against the proposal has been circulating the village and there is currently just over 300 signatures, with hopefully, more to come. A lot of people have written to Teesdale planning, objecting to the proposal and this combined with Monday night’s meeting will send a clear message to Durham County Council that the residents of Cockfield just don’t want this sort of establishment in their village.
The public meeting takes place at Cockfield club on Monday 10th May at 7-15pm.
Please try to attend as ‘PEOPLE POWER’ really can make a difference.
