One of the oldest established post offices in Ferryhill will finally close its doors to business on Tuesday, May 4th.

The West End Post Office in Parker Terrace will relocate to the former Spendwise shop in the town centre. The new branch opens on Friday, May 7th and is a mere 300 meters for the old site.

The Parker Terrace branch had been run by a temporary Sub-postmaster for the past year. This was due to difficulties with the former owners of the post office.

A spokes person for the Post Office Ltd said, “The new branch will have a low-level serving counter and writing desk with a hearing loop to assist customers with mobility difficulties.

“Opening hours will include lunchtimes and the same range of Post Office products and services will be available”.
