A TEESSIDE bowling club celebrates its centenary this month.
Saltburn Bowls Club was founded in 1936, competing in the North Yorkshire EBA League, the Middlesbrough Wednesday League, the Ladies League and Cleveland League.
As part of the celebrations, English Bowling Association president Ian Woodcock will bring his team to play against the club on Thursday, June 15, at 2pm.
Mr Woodcock is a local man, who was assistant secretary of the country from 1994 to 2004, and played bowls for Guisborough King George V Bowling Club.
The Saltburn club has also organised a celebration tour, in August, to Worcester, where members will play at Broadway, Worcester and Droitwich.
