AN animal charity is appealing for a new home for a one-year-old black labrador-cross.
Alfie is described as a lively dog who likes attention.
His first home was with a single mother and her children but, as the children got older, Alfie became too much for the family.
He has been taken in by the National Animal Sanctuaries Support League (NASSL), near Darlington.
Alfie has been temporarily homed with a family in North Cowton, North Yorkshire.
Pauline Wilson, from the charity, said: "He is a really nice dog that would fit in with most families. He has been brought up with young children and is a good all-rounder.
"He loves chasing a ball and is very lively. We would like to find a home where Alfie could get a fair bit of attention and a fair bit of exercise."
Anyone who would like to offer Alfie a home is asked to contact Mrs Wilson on 07748 268822 or (01325) 321855.
