YOUNG rock musicians have been learning the tricks of the trade at half-term sessions at a Durham school.
The Darlington-based School of Rock and Pop held a workshop at Belmont Community Arts College, on Thursday and Friday, for youngsters.
Eight musicians, aged 11 to 15, took part in the sessions under expert tuition and learnt how to play songs including The Kaiser Chief's I Predict a Riot. They later gave a performance for family and friends.
Tutor Andrew Meadowcroft said: "We had a variety of singers, keyboard players, bassists, drummers and loads of guitarists. Durham has some great young musicians.
"The idea is to get musicians who have been practising in their bedroom together so they can learn how to play together and help to push them on further.''
