A BRITISH paralympic star is heading to Thirsk to compete in her tenth ten-mile road race.
Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson has won four paralympic gold medals as part of the Great Britain team.
She will compete in this year's Thirsk Road Race on Sunday, June 11.
The race, along with a 2.6-mile mini marathon, are organised by Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers and sponsored by White Rose Books.
The ten-mile race will start at 2pm and the mini marathon at 1pm, both from Thirsk Racecourse.
Teams of four are being entered into the mini marathon by local primary schools.
The winning school will receive £100.
The first boy and girl will receive a £10 White Rose Books voucher, and all finishers will receive a White Rose Books mug.
