TEENAGERS have worked alongside the director of a popular TV show to write their own stage production.
Members of the Arclub, aged 13 to 16, wrote the plot for The Lemon Tree, which was then scripted by Hollyoaks assistant director Kelly Binks.
The story follows the tale of two rival gangs set in the 1930s. The two groups have been fighting for so long that even they don't know what they are fighting about any more.
The teenagers will take to the stage on Saturday, June 10.
The Arclub have played the Arc Theatre, in Stockton, several times before, with their five previous performances being sell-outs.
The club's summer show is to return after a roaring success last year. The Summer School runs over two weeks, and is for 13 to 17-year olds, culminating in a performance at Arc.
The school is open to everyone and the two weeks will include acting, singing, dancing and filming.
Arclub Summer School, which is based in The Arc Theatre, runs from August 14 to 25, Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. Places are £90, payable in three instalments of £30.
Tickets for The Lemon Tree are £5, with performances at 2.30pm and 7pm.
The box office is on (01642) 525199.
