A CHILDREN'S centre opened yesterday with a day of face-painting and dance.
Families had the chance to see what will be on offer from Sure Start's Richard Hind Centre, in Stockton.
Stockton Mayor Councillor Suzanne Fletcher marked the official opening and started the fun.
Children and their carers took part in balloon modelling and watched demonstrations and displays by the police, fire brigade and Darkshar Dance Group.
The BBC Radio Cleveland Bus was broadcasting live from the centre throughout the day.
The centre will provide a range of services for children and families, including childcare, health services and training in range of subjects including childcare.
Councillor Alex Cunningham, Stockton council's cabinet member for children and young people, said: "The opening of this centre is part of our continuing commitment to providing the best possible start in life for all youngsters in the borough."
