MANY of a village's residents were so pleased with the first summer fair they held last year that they are planning to make this year's event bigger and better.
A children's fancy dress contest and sports will be among the events at the recreation ground and village hall in Ingleton, near Barnard Castle, on Saturday, June 17.
Among the attractions will be displays of vintage tractors and classic cars, an Army paintball range, a fire brigade demonstration and a potter at work.
The event will be opened at 1.30pm by Peter Barron, editor of The Northern Echo.
The South Durham Wind Band and the Dalesiders will also perform, and there will be a plant stall.
All money raised will go towards the running of the hall.
