A TEESDALE District Council depot was broken into over the weekend.
Thousands of pounds worth of engineering equipment was stolen from the depot on Stainton Grove Industrial Estate, near Barnard Castle, between Saturday lunchtime and Tuesday morning.
The stolen items, which are worth more than £3,720, include copper cylinders, oxycetelene bottles, a generator, copper tubing and copper and brass fittings.
Since the burglary, security has been stepped up at the site. Meanwhile, anyone with any information is asked to contact Durham Police on 0845 60 60 365 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
