RUNNERS are to raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance after an injured colleague was rescued.
Matthew Lamb and Nick Brightey, of the Potter Group, will take part in the Great North Run half marathon.
Warehouse worker Wayne Crick was helped by the air ambulance service after he was trapped between a forklift and a pallet of goods.
He suffered minor injuries and has returned to work after the incident in January at the company's Melmerby site, near Ripon.
Mr Lamb said: "Everyone was impressed by the speed of response and care shown by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in airlifting our injured colleague to hospital from Ripon.
"However not everyone realises that this excellent service is a charity, and we were determined to show our gratitude by running the full 13 miles to raise much-needed funds through sponsorship."
The air ambulance costs £1.3m a year to run and has flown more than 5,000 missions since it started in 2000.
