A SUDDEN downpour failed to dampen the spirits of bank holiday fun-lovers at the weekend.
The heavens may have opened but all the fun of the fair came to Brompton, Northallerton, as the village hosted its traditional carnival.
Local organisations entered their own floats for the procession, including the Green Tree pub, which this year had two entries.
One took the World Cup as its theme while the other took its lead from the world of films with a Carry On Brompton look.
Landlord Peter Ellis said: "Everybody has put a lot of effort into their floats - and they've been very inventive and humorous."
