STUDENTS have joined an exclusive roll of honour.
Northallerton College students Rav Jayasuriya and Natalie Williams have won the Cuthbert's Cross - which has its roots in the heritage of St Cuthbert.
The 18-year-olds, of Northallerton and Romanby respectively, received the accolade at a school leavers' assembly.
Rav's accomplishments include coaching basketball and Frisbee, taking part in drama productions and working with children with special needs. He is planning to study medicine at university.
He said: "This is a great honour and everyone who was nominated was equally deserving of the award."
Natalie, who hopes to become a social worker, is a peer mentor, plays netball and is a key member of the common room committee and student council.
She said: "It's a great college and I'm proud to be recognised by my peers and teachers."
The awards ceremony also recognised sporting efforts. The David Dick Award for commitment and dedication went to Simon Pinkney.
The 18-year-old, of Northallerton, plays centre back and helped the college football team reach the final of the County Cup, which they narrowly lost on penalties.
And the Ben Hyde Award was given to cyclist Jessie Roberts, 16, and rugby player Richard Cuthbert, 17, both of Romanby.
