CHILDREN at a North Yorkshire school have written to Prime Minister Tony Blair urging him to help clamp down on adverts promoting unhealthy food.
Headteacher Tracey Ralph said the youngsters at Norton Community Primary School, near Malton, have been studying commercial channels during the early evening.
The homework project saw children analyse advertisements for products such as crisps and fizzy drinks.
She said: "The children felt they were being pressurised by the advertisements."
One pupil, Abigail Learoyd, said: "I was astonished at how many unhealthy food and drink adverts there are on television."
The children have also written to television standards authorities and TV channels.
