A TEENAGER who unwittingly sold a stolen unicycle back to its owner was sentenced to six months behind bars yesterday.
Martin Butterworth, prosecuting, said Christopher Henderson, 19, sold the unicycle for £5 to Tait Severs in a park in Richmond on March 22, who recognised the unicycle and contacted police.
Henderson, of Alexandra Way, Richmond, said he found the unicycle in a hedge and yesterday admitted theft by finding. He also admitted aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified and without insurance, and failing to stop for police after stealing his grandfather's Renault Scenic.
He also admitted stealing two PlayStation games from his mother and two charges of failing to answer bail. Magistrates at Northallerton sentenced him to six months in a young offenders' institution and banned him from driving for 18 months.
