THE Friends of Baldersby St James CE Primary School, near Thirsk, have raised more than £1,000 by holding a silent auction of promises for parents, governors, pupils and staff.
Among the lots were nights at the Crab Manor Hotel, at Asenby, Harefield Hall Hotel, at Pateley Bridge, and the Majestic Hotel, at Harrogate, along with family days out at Yorvik in York, Beamish Museum, in County Durham, and the Forbidden Corner, near Leyburn.
This year, the Friends have raised £3,000 to help the school buy new ICT and play equipment.
Headteacher Mark Lawn said: "With the fantastic support of Friends and staff, we are able to give our pupils the highest quality resources."
