AN AWARD-WINNING professional photographer has launched his latest book.
Philip Nixon's publication, A Portrait of Durham, was unveiled at the Durham Tourist Information Centre in time for the summer season.
Mr Nixon runs his own photographic library of more than 40,000 images.
His photographs have been published worldwide in magazines, newspapers, calendars and books.
He teaches photography and also runs photographic workshops and writes and produces big screen multimedia presentations.
In his free time, Mr Nixon is a steward at Durham Cathedral. His previous publication for Breedon Books was Exploring Durham History.
He was commissioned by Halsgrove Publishing to produce A Portrait of Durham and has just finished another book for Halsgrove, Moods of County Durham.
