A SERIES of fun family drop-in workshops is to help put a spring into the school half-term holidays at a County Durham art gallery.
Visitor assistants at the Durham Light Infantry Museum and Durham Art Gallery are running a series of workshops from Monday to next Saturday.
Visitors to the Durham County Council-run gallery on Bank Holiday Monday will be able to stitch a greetings card and discover the craft of sewing onto cardboard.
The ancient art of paper weaving will allow people to create their own place mat or wall hanging on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Sculpture workshops are to be held on Thursday and Friday, when families can create their own 3D modern versions.
Mosaic pictures round off the week, next Saturday, when families can use coloured paper tiles to create their own mosaic.
The workshops, which run from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, are open to anyone aged over five, but under-eights must be accompanied by an adult.
There is no charge, other than the normal museum admission, and families can pop in for a few minutes or stay for the two hours.
