A YOUTH group has designed and built a garden and play area for other members of the community to enjoy.
The Grangetown Youth Ground Force Group designed and constructed the £1,700 garden and play area at Grangetown Library.
It includes seating, play equipment, tubs of flowers, bark flooring and decorative fencing.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, Councillor Dave Fitzpatrick, said: "It's fantastic to see young people contributing so much hard work and time to their community. It shows what's possible when youngsters want to make a difference."
The group, which takes its name from the TV show, was formed from the library's Youth Forum and chose 15-year-old Michael Duffield as its chairman.
Michael said: "I really enjoyed working with the youth group because we worked as a team to create a safe and fun outdoor area for children under five to visit. We wanted to make a better environment for the community and to brighten Grangetown up."
The group, which also included Amy Charlesworth, 12, Lucy Wilson, 13, Leanne John, 14, Laura Wilson, 14, Darren Poole, 13 and Kim Jameson, 18, carried out a range of tasks, including clearing the ground, erecting fencing, putting together flatpack tables, chairs and play equipment and planting.
