AN award-winning play, set in late-1950s North-West England, is being performed in the North-East.
Shelagh Delaney's modern classic tale, a Taste of Honey, will be staged at Darlington Civic Theatre until Saturday.
The play follows the story of a mother and a daughter, Jo, in the late 1950s, living in working class Salford, Manchester and the difficult choices Jo has to make in pursuit of happiness.
The production stars Samantha Giles, of Emmerdale and Where the Heart Is, and Bruno Langley, of Coronation Street, who are pictured above. Performances are at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinees at 2.30pm. Tickets cost from £12 to £18.
