A village community centre has staved off closure after a new committee took over the running of the site.
But the steering group has warned that Toronto Community Centre still requires more help from the public if it is to remain open in the long-term.
The previous committee disbanded after becoming disillusioned with the lack of support from villagers.
But a group of volunteers has taken over the running of the centre, and hopes to turn it into the hub of the community.
About 30 people attended a meeting on Tuesday, which discussed potential fundraising events to fill the centre and raise much-needed funds to improve it.
Secretary Martin Heard, 19, said: "I'm really ecstatic it has been left open and we've been given the chance to do something about it.
"Everybody's got to club together now to help us move forward and make a success of it. We've worked hard to take this on, and now we really need the support of the community."
The centre costs £300 a month to run, which the committee hopes to raise by holding events such as bingo and coffee nights.
They also plan to resurrect junior and senior youth clubs and a drama group.
A public meeting on the future of the centre will be held at the community centre today, at 7pm.
