A HELICOPTER used in the Vietnam war is making its first official display appearance this weekend.
The Bell UH1H, the only machine of its kind in operation in Europe, is known throughout the world as the "Huey".
It was developed for use in Vietnam from the experiences of the US air force in the Korean War, to provide casualty evacuation, general utility and ultimately combat functions.
An example is appearing at this weekend's Battlegroup North Wargaming and Military Vehicle Show at the Yorkshire Air Museum, Elvington, near York.
The restored aircraft, owned and operated by businessman and aviation enthusiast Phil Connolly, is painted in authentic Vietnam markings.
