Cleveland League
TWO SIDES failed to make 50 in division one. Hartlepool Camerons were bowled out for 18 as Smithies and Brown both took four wickets before Loftus went on to win by nine wickets.
New Marske faired little better and were dismissed for 41 by Staithes as Farrell returned five for nine and Burton four for eight. Staithes went on to win by a seven wickets margin.
Runs were more plentiful at Loftus B who defeated Dormans by one wicket following an exciting finale.
Batting first Dormans ended on 120 with Shaw claiming four for 29 and Pells three for 17. Pearson made a timely mid-innings contribution of 38 for Loftus B who judged edged to victory with the last pair at the wicket.
Dale was five for 41 and Holland three for 30 and almost clinched victory for Dormans.
Newman batted throughout for an undefeated 52 and Burdon was another player to make a half-century as The Merlin realised 223 for four at Norton who were 185 for seven at close of play.
Harker, with a splendid 112, played a leading role in gaining a draw for Norton while for The Merlin Moss took five of the seven wickets to fall for 52 runs.
The fixture between Ormesby Hall and Smiths Dock was postponed and will be played at a later date.
In Division Two Ormesby Hall won by two wickets at Smiths Dock who were restricted to 113 including 32 by Mountjoy. Roberts had four for 28 and Hussein three for 11 for Ormesby Hall, who won with runs down the order from a number of players.
Cowpen Bewley were sent back for 30 with Yeoman returning the magnificent figures of eight for 12 for Brotton, who batting first, ended with 129 all out.
Boosbeck totalled 121 including 43 by Daynes at home to Skelton Castle for whom Stubbs and Twiby shared six wickets. Responding Skelton Castle were dismissed for 73 with Booth taking six wickets for 20 runs.
No play was possible in the game between Hinderwell and Paragonians because the ground was unfit.
Inshore Fisheries
Langbaurgh League
THERE was a surfeit of runs when Kildale defeated Broughton and Kirby in division one. Batting first the visitors ended with the formidable total of 193 for eight which included an unbeaten 97 by White.
Dan Doughty had four wickets for Kildale, who won losing three wickets as Sonley finished with a magnificent 102 not out.
Maltby managed just 91 at home to East Harlsey for whom Willey had figures of six for 35. The modest target proved comfortable for East Harlsey who won by eight wickets as Hill ended undefeated on 55.
Barritt scored no fewer than 93 of the Scruton total of 131 for nine. Raynor returned four for 26 and Nicholson three for 25 for Kirby Sigston who won with three wickets in tact.
Their top scorer was Harper with 32 and for Scruton Brass and Butler both took three wickets.
Stafford Place had 20 runs in hand of Crathorne. When they made first use of the wicket Stafford Place realised 167 with O'Donohue, Grades and Livingstone all making at least 30.
Howard Leng and Pattison shared seven wickets for Crathorne who were dismissed for 147 as Grades had a hat-trick in figures of seven for 62.
Openers Leng (34) and Marshall (46) gave the Crathorne innings a good send off and Pattison added 30 but the match winner was Grades.
In division two Hutton Rudby defeated Chopgate by 80 runs. Jones was 73 not out leading Hutton Rudby to 187 for six and replying Chopgate managed just 107 for eight.
Ingleby Greenhow were restricted to 55 as G Hogarth, Stainthorpe and D Hogarth shared the ten wickets.
Skelton Castle lost three wickets reaching the low target.
Swainby were 153 for eight but still lost by four wickets to Maltby whose reply of 155 for six included 75 not out by Barber and 53 from Hall. Theakston and Ling also made half-centuries for Swainby.
When Thompson took five for 65 and Brudenell three for 11 Moorsholm were pegged to 95 and Thimbleby won without losing a wicket as Barningham carried his bat for 41 and Cowton ended with 49 not out.
Roseberry Group North
East Durham League
PETER Harwood (47 no) and Kevin Jones (27 no) were the match winners when Newton Hall defeated Whiteleas by one wicket in the First Division.
The pair formed a big unbroken partnership for the last wicket but for most of the innings Newton Hall were on the defensive replying to a target of 176.
Hinton, batting at number nine added 34 before Harwood and Jones steered their side to an unexpected victory.
When Whiteleas batted first and realised 175 for nine, Jones was also among the wickets with four for 41 while Card returned four for 43.
Wearmouth had 15 runs in hand of Coundon. Duncan Forrest top scored with 89 in his total of 181 with Tate claiming seven for 43 for Coundon who were all out for 166.
Three players made half centuries as Hunwick realised the huge total of 324 for three against Newton Aycliffe.
Breen, Fleming and Pollitt all past 50 and responding Newton Aycliffe were pegged to 177 for five which included a half century from opener K Wheeler.
M Thompson struck 125 and S Thompson 57 as Simonside reached 250 for four declared at home to Littletown who were all out for 103 with S Thompson taking four of the wickets for 14 runs.
Medomsley managed just 86 as East Rainton's Noble and Colledge shared nine of the wickets. Neil Matthews then made East Rainton's eight wickets match winning reply scoring 49.
The entire programme in the first division on Sunday was washed out.
In Division Two on Saturday East Rainton overtook the Newton Hall total of 102 by seven wickets. Derek Steinberg and Davison both took four wickets for East Rainton and Parkinson contributed an unbeaten 50.
Noble (77) and Pritchard (50) top performed in the Belmont innings which ended on 216 at Kibblesworth who were sent back for just 33. Noble had three wickets for 14 while Pat Welsh returned the magnificent figures of seven for 18.
Bearpark were dismissed for 100 at home to Wearmouth but made the Wearsiders fight all the way before losing by two wickets. Bomaker was the match winner for Wearmouth with an unbeaten 45 and in the Bearpark attack Tate took four of the wickets for 28 runs.
There was a close finish at Tantobie who defeated North Bitchburn by 12 runs.
Craig (44) led Tantobie to 137 for nine with Nevins claiming five for 32 for North Bitchburn who were dismissed for 125 including 61 by Williams. Craig was also in form with the ball for Tantobie taking five for 24.
Foster's Durham Senior League
Under-15s
BEN Raine was in magnificent form when Philadelphia met Marsden at Bunker Hill.
The 14-year-old crashed eight sixes in an unbeaten 107 and Mattie Haswell added 42 not out to a total of 159 without loss. Marsden replied with 65 for one.
Jonathan Taylor (50no) led Chesterle-Street to 103 for two and Boldon were 95 for three when their overs expired, while Felling had just 12 runs to spare defeating Gateshead Fell in the local derby. Gorge contributed 45 to the Felling total of 99 for three before the Fell ended on 87 for five.
Horden overtook the Hetton Lyons total of 58 with ten wickets in tact and Durham City won by eight wickets at Eppleton who were 80 for five including 27 by Kyle Davis.
Craig Henderson struck 78 as Whitburn reached 125 for five against Burnmoor who whom Burrell took three for 19 and later scored 32 of his team's total of 53 for nine. Andrew Richardson captured four wickets for nine runs and Daniel Quinn two without cost in the Whitburn attack.
Andrew Elliott (53no) led South Shields who a ten wickets victory over Sunderland whose total of 99 for four included 41 by Youldon.
Under-18s
ROWLAND Fairlamb (32no) and James Booth (27no) figured in an unbroken opening partnership for 63 when Durham City defeated South Hetton who were all out for 62. Stewart Houson delivered the outstanding figures of five for 12 in five overs for Durham City.
Nicholas Quinn took five wickets for two runs and Liam Backhurst three for ten when Felling were all out for 29.
Marsden lost five wickets before winning as Paul Leonard took four wickets for five urns.
Ali Shah struck four boundaries in 32 out of a Horden total of 92 for nine and in reply Burnmoor won losing three wickets as Embleton also had four boundaries out of 38 and McDougal struck six fours in 28.
Michael Walker was 55 not out when Hetton Lyons overtook the Sunderland total of 71 for five losing one wickets. Chris Youldon top scored with 24 for the Wearsiders.
Nick Jones (69) and Steve Martin (39) enabled Boldon to post 164 for five, but the formidable total was overtaken by Whitburn who conceded three wickets.
Peter Marshall was their match winner with 80.
Chris Watson and Adam Dawson both took two wickets reducing Philadelphia to 63 for six at South Shields who won by eight wickets.
Chris Doughty ended undefeated on 36.
