COUNTY Durham racing driver Amanda Whitaker is all set for the 2006 European Historic Formula 2 season which starts this weekend at Hockenheim, Germany.
She will once again be driving the Chevron B34 Formula Atlantic car, owned by Oskar Christen.
This year, it will be prepared and run by the works Chevron team based in Cheshire.
The car was unveiled at Silverstone in it's new blue & white livery - harking back to past Chevron glories of the 1970's. It was shook down in wet conditions last week (pictured) and despite a couple of teething problems that were rectified by the team, she was happy with the feel of the car and performance of the 1600 Ford BDA engine which has been rebuilt by tuners Swindon Racing Engines.
Whitaker races again in the Formula Atlantic category of the series and her aims are to win the class and to hopefully surprise a few of the more powerful Formula 2 cars along the way.
