CROFT Circuit will once again echo to the sound of yesteryear when the Classic Sports Car Club makes their annual pilgrimage north for their race meeting tomorrow.
Topping the bill will be the popular 'Swinging Sixties' series where competitors will compete in a 40 minute race. Front-runners are expected to be Mark Campbell's Triumph TR5 and the Lotus Super Seven of John Muirhead.
Supporting the race will be the 'Tin Tops' series with more modern cars including the MG of David Mellor and Ian Collins in a Proton expected to feature well.
Competitors will take to the track for two, 15-minute scratch races in the Millers Oils/JEC Powered by Jaguar Championship and a similar format awaits drivers in the Soilmec/JEC Saloon Challenge and the Jaguar World Monthly/Classic Spares XJS Championship.
The ever popular Northern Saloon & Sports Car Championship will see packed grids for the various classes and rounding off an action packed day will be the Sports v Saloon Challenge with cars up to 1600cc taking on the mighty V8's whereby David Edwards' Chevrolet Camaro is expected to challenge Henry Firman's Porsche 911 GT3.
The action on track gets underway at 9.30am with racing from 12 noon.
Adult admission will be 10 per person with accompanied children under 15 admitted free. There will be free admission to the Paddock areas also.
