A DARLINGTON business has celebrated its silver jubilee by restoring a van made when the company was launched.
Northgate commemorated 25 years in business by helping the owner of a 1981 Transit restore the vehicle.
The van, which is owned by Transit Van Club founder Peter Lee, caused a stir when Northgate displayed it on its stand at the Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC, Birmingham.
Alan Noble, executive director of Northgate, said: "This fully-restored vehicle is like a little piece of history to the Northgate Group.
"The Transit has always played an important role in our fleet and, with the help of advances in technology, still remains an extremely popular choice among our customers today."
The van was restored with original parts and includes a sign on its side. It will continue to play a part in the silver jubilee celebrations for the rest of the year
