TEN days after a teenager was last seen by her family, police have renewed their appeal for her safe return.
Cindy Shield, 15, left her home in Shildon, County Durham on Friday, May 10, to go to her school, Sunnydale Comprehensive. She failed to turn up and has not been heard from since.
Police said she had been reported missing on numerous occasions in the past and it is thought that she may be in Darlington or Middlesbrough, or is perhaps moving between the two areas.
She is believed to be in the company of older men who are providing her with shelter.
Cindy's parents have expressly refused her permission to go to Darlington and Middlesbrough, or associate with any of the people with whom she has previously been found.
Sergeant Ian Blakemore from Newton Aycliffe Police said: "Anyone harbouring her could easily find themselves in trouble.''
Anyone with information is asked to call Durham Police on 0845 60 60 365.
