A COMMUNITY group that plants trees in a Teesdale village has been given a £1,500 grant.
Trees for Cotherstone was awarded the money by the Local Heritage Initiative to continue planting trees around the village.
In addition to its usual work, the funds will enable the group to conduct a survey into tree ages as well as produce a website, leaflets and a notice board.
A training session on tree surveying techniques will take place on Saturday at 10am from the East Green. Everyone welcome.
