CHILDREN have learned more about a career in health and social care.
Year ten pupils from Branksome and Haughton schools who attend Darlington College to take vocational GCSEs took part in a workshop organised by the health authority.
The youngsters were invited to Middlesbrough Teaching and Learning Centre to attend Steps, a day-long programme organised by the Strategic Health Authority to raise the profile of careers in health and social care.
A variety of workshops gave them an insight into the various careers available including pathology, midwifery, public health, sexual health and music therapy.
They also took part in a drum workshop, discussion groups and helped design a poster for a quit-smoking campaign for young adults.
