HARTLEPOOL United midfielder Darrell Clarke is wanted by Lincoln City.
Boss Keith Alexander has confirmed his interest, but it is likely to be rebuffed by the player, who has suffered injury troubles throughout the past two seasons.
Clarke is out of contract this summer, but has been offered a new deal to extend his five-year stay at Victoria Park.
Towards the end of last season Clarke confirmed his desire to earn a new contract at the club, admitting: "My contract is up at the end of the season and I want to stay.''
And now, after being offered new terms, Alexander's hopes are likely to be cut short as Clarke looks to stay in the North-East.
Alexander worked with the midfielder when the pair were at Mansfield in the 1990s and said: "Darrell is a very good player. I worked with him at Mansfield and was always impressed.
"He turned out to be a very good performer, but whether he would suit us a different question altogether.
"We have to wait and see what happens.''
And while Clarke looks set to stay, another Pool midfielder is edging towards a move to Bradford City.
Thomas Butler turned down the chance to sign for Colin Todd's side last summer, but the ex-Middlesbrough boss has rekindled his interest and the club is confident of securing his services.
Todd last week confirmed Butler was his main close-season target and Bantams' chairman Julian Rhodes last night confirmed: "Terms have been agreed with the player and it will probably happen before the end of the month.''
Pool, meanwhile, have announced unchanged season ticket prices next season.
Adults can purchase season tickets in the Cyril Knowles and Camerons Brewery Stand seats for £350 (before the 5pm on Friday, June 30), tickets in the Expamet Town End and Camerons Brewery terraces will be again available for £300 (if purchased before deadline).
