A FORMER Conservative Party leader backed new technology as a way to win back Darlington voters.
Richmond MP William Hague, now the Shadow Foreign Secretary, addressed 120 Conservative Party members at the newly formed Political Supper Club at the 96.6tfm Darlington Arena on Saturday night.
He was launching a website www.darlingtonfuture.co.uk that goes live in the middle of next month.
Mr Hague said the innovative approach of using Podcasts to spread the message of Conservative policies was the way forward.
He said: "It's a great initiative and it allows new people to get in touch with the Conservative party just at a time when we are open to new members, new candidates, young people joining the party in large numbers and women candidates coming forward. So it is really in keeping with that that Darlington Conservatives are saying 'look here is a way you can find out about us."
