A BIKE shop has received a helping hand from the council.
Martin Lewin, owner of Kudu Bikes, in Hawes, has been awarded a £1,500 grant by Richmondshire District Council.
Mr Lewin said: "We have been supported throughout the development of our business by the district council.
"I would encourage anyone thinking of expanding to look into the possibility of funding.
"The grant has enabled us to update all of our office equipment and move our business forward."
Kudu Bikes sells and hires out bikes, offers repairs and servicing and sells spare parts, tools and cycling accessories.
Matt O'Neill, the council's assistant economic development officer, said: "We are pleased to help the development of Kudu Bikes with this grant.
"In the last five years, we have allocated more than £100,000 to businesses in Richmondshire.
"This is set to continue this year and we are very keen to assist local businesses, particularly those in the tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, IT and digital sectors."
