A CHARITY shop has opened after a facelift that it hopes will draw in more customers.
Age Concern, next to Durham bus station, was reopened by the city's town crier, former city councillor Colin Beswick.
The shop, which has been open for about seven years and has a manager and about ten volunteers, was closed for ten days for the revamp.
Manager Paula Stewart said: "We have had new flooring, new lighting and new fixtures and fittings. It has totally changed the shop. It is much brighter.
"We have had a lot of good comments about how the shop looks now and the stock we have got, and I would think it will be a lot busier.'"
