A "MEXICAN" team has won a mini world cup for youngsters held at a North-East Football Stadium.
The 96.6 TFM Darlington Arena hosted The Northern Echo's Local Heroes SoccerSix World Cup Challenge yesterday, for under-14s.
The competition was organised in a World Cup format, with 32 teams from across the region competing in eight groups of four teams.
Each team played three games in the group, with the top two teams in each group qualifying for the knockout stages.
Each team represented a World Cup country and was allocated shirts in the colours of that team.
The winning team was from Catterick Garrison Football Centre, representing Mexico.
