A HEADY concoction is being stirred up at a North-East theatre as a version of a Roald Dahl classic is brought to the region.
The Birmingham Stage Company company's production of George's Marvellous Medicine, which has attracted critical acclaim, is at Darlington Civic Theatre today and tomorrow.
Written in by Dahl in 1982, the much-loved children's book was adapted by the company, who are touring with the production for the second time.
It follows the story of George, who creates a "medicine" to fettle his bad-tempered grandmother, with hilarious results.
The company has also toured with productions of James and the Giant Peach, The Witches, and Fantastic Mr Fox.
Suitable for children older than four, George's Marvellous Medicine has plenty of audience participation.
Performances are at 10.30am and 2.30pm today and tomorrow. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £7.50 for children. For information and bookings, call the box office on (01325) 486555.
