A 23-YEAR-OLD man has admitted dishonestly buying goods, including cigarettes, after he stole a credit card.
Richard Jenkinson, of Haughton Road, Darlington, pleaded guilty to a list of charges when he appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court yesterday.
He admitted stealing a wallet including credit cards form a parked car in Darlington in the early hours of March 15.
He then went on to use the cards to get chocolate and cash, and 400 cigarettes from three stores in the town.
At a fourth store, the shopkeeper became suspicious and stopped him from buying more cigarettes.
Jenkinson also pleaded guilty to possessing 0.1g of amphetamine on April 20 and failing to surrender to bail on May 6.
Jacqueline Gibson, prosecuting, said the victim had left his wallet in his car overnight.
Jenkinson was given conditional bail to appear back at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on June 14.
He must live at his home address, report twice a week to police and was given a curfew from 9pm to 7am.
