A MOTORIST made his first appearance at crown court yesterday accused of causing death by dangerous driving.
Craig Turner, 29, is accused of causing the death of 26-year-old David Harrison, known as Jack, in a car accident near Tesco, in Simonside, South Shields, South Tyneside, in February.
Mr Turner, who is charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol, spoke only to confirm his name during a short appearance at Newcastle Crown Court.
Judge David Hodson adjourned the case until August 15 and granted Mr Turner, of Millford, Gateshead, bail.
