IT WAS denim as far as the eye could see when a County Durham primary school came up with a novel way to raise cash.
All 219 pupils and staff at Pittington Primary School wore denim for the fundraiser.
Having two pupils with diabetes in the school, it was decided to stage a Denim for Diabetes' day.
Toddlers in the school's nursery were also kitted out in denim along with their nannies.
Headteacher Cathy Lee said: "I am delighted to say that more than £200 has been raised by the event.''
A similar day was staged at last year, but this year even more funding was raised.
"Everyone made a tremendous effort, and there was not one single pupil or member of staff who did not wear denim. We are very pleased with the money raised by individual sponsorship,'' said Ms Lee.
