A CZECH man has been banned from the roads for 20 months after he admitted drink-driving.
Robert Simko, 25, of Farrer Street, Darlington, also admitted driving without a licence at the Darlington Magistrates' Court yesterday.
He admitted driving with 85 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.
Michael Rayner, mitigating, said his client did not know he needed insurance because in the Czech Republic only the car needed insuring.
Simko was fined £200 for drink-driving, £75 for driving without insurance and given six penalty points.
